About This Lesson
This graphic organizer is designed to help students critically engage with a current events article by guiding them through a structured analysis. It prompts students to evaluate the newsworthiness of the article, assess the credibility of the source, and identify the main argument or central claim. Students are also asked to cite evidence that supports the article’s argument, make connections to key course themes or “Big Ideas”, and consider the historical context necessary to fully understand the issue.
